However, I cannot countenance the opinion of the article linked below, which makes the bizarre leap from recommending peppermint to suggesting that candy canes might actually be good for you, because they contain peppermint oil! They of course fail to mention that the sugar in candy canes outweighs the peppermint oil by a considerable margin.
