Women Warned: Eat Less or Weigh More

New research shows that women who don't try to eat less more than double their risk of substantial weight gain in middle age. If you're a 40-something woman, whether you're thin or overweight, the odds are that you'll gain weight over time if you don't make an effort to cut back on what you eat.

The finding comes from a study of nearly 200 women with an average age of 40. At the start of the study the women underwent detailed physical exams, and underwent a seven-day analysis of the food they ate.

Three years later, they underwent another round of physical exams and food-intake analysis. The bottom line was no surprise -- they tended to gain weight and body fat as they aged and became less physically active.

However, not all women gained weight. Even if they didn't exercise more, women who made an effort to eat less were 69 percent less likely to gain more than 2.2 pounds and were 2.4 times less likely to gain 6.6 pounds or more.

2.2 pounds or 6.6 pounds?! I think it's time people get a grip. There are more important things than this "number". There's absolutely nothing wrong with a woman gaining an extra few pounds as she ages. It's perfectly natural and more than likely she'll be able to enjoy her life more without the constant badgering about weight.

Curlilox Nails It

When our body gets trained that's it's not gonna be getting food for long spans of time it conserves what it gets.

So as bad as eating too much is, eating too little can be bad too for another reason outside of losing weight.

Food is one of the most powerful drugs available.  Why? Because it drastically affects the delicate chemistry in our bodies.

This is why the above article seems incomplete to me because they didn't tell us at all what kind of food was being consumed.

When we eat food and portion sizes that give us energy instead of robbing us of it, our body will thank us by supporting us in whatever we're doing at the time.

When we succumb to the siren call of sugar filled, cheese smothered, grease drenched food it's like we're committing pre-meditated murder on our energy and focus.

Test for yourself.  Gorge yourself on pizza and ice cream and see how alert you are.  How about some basketball?  How bout a run?  Crossword puzzle?

No.  How about T.V.?  Of course.  Studies have proven you go into a dumbed down state when you watch T.V. so it makes perfect sense that junk diet and junk T.V. watching habits go hand in hand.

One way we sure our focus stays steady is by making sure our blood sugar doesn't crash.

Eating tons of sugar or empty carbs negatively affect our insulin levels.

If you eat something nutritious every 2 1/2 to 3 you'll see your focus stays solid.  When you eat though make sure you're satisfied but not full.

NERD, I'D SAY YOU NAILED IT!
Binging out on sugar is really your body's cry for minerals!  When you bite into a juicy peach, the sweet juicy flavor is packed with minerals (and other life-giving nutrients).  Many people highly addicted to sugar and junk food are continuing to eat as the body thinks it is getting some minerals.  When tricked with garbage, it asks for more minerals.  It becomes a vicious cycle with the only end in site being giving the body minerals!

People who eat only one meal a day slow up their metabolism making it more difficult to burn off the calories.  Also, our bodies go into protection mode where when we do eat, the body hordes the food instead of burning it up, to help it get through the next time of fasting.  It is also difficult to get all the necessary nutrients your body needs in when you eat only once or twice a day.  Eating small meals several times a day is highly beneficial,  speeds up the metabolism, and makes it easier for the body to assimulate and absorb the nutrients.
When fasting, try juice fasting, or lemon juice fasting which helps to clean out the toxins.  Juice one peeled lemon, add Grade B organic maple syrup to taste, blend on high in a Vita Mix, and water and a pinch of cayenne pepper, and sip on through out the day.  If you get hungry, fix another lemon!

It`s not about eating more or less when talking weight-gain or loss-it`s about what kind of food.Calories are not equal. When eating carbs you have to exercise a lot in order to burn calories-the remaining will be stored as fat.The more carbs the more exercise you need-it´s as simple as that. When consuming fat food you get satisfied before your stomach is filled and you stay satiesfied for a longer time, your blod sugar level then staying within the limits and not giving hunger feelings.Consequently  you get fewer calories but nutritive substance by which you can build and repair your body.Carbs give only empty energy.
