A recent study followed more than 150,000 women for eight years. Some of the women took multivitamins, while others didn’t -- and researchers found no significant difference between the two groups in rates for cancer, heart disease or mortality.
In other words, taking multivitamins doesn’t necessarily make you any healthier.
Earlier vitamin studies have had mixed results, with some saying they help, and some saying they didn’t. But this study was more strictly controlled, with researchers actually collecting vitamin bottles from women to verify use.
