It contains phosphatidylcholine a highly beneficial compound for your liver. Everybody taking care of their health should take a minimum of 2 tsp per week all year long ! It protects the liver from all the toxins it is exposed to. This doesn't mean I advocate other non-fermented soy products. I've never had any adverse effect with soy lecithin but if you're still worried you can buy 100% pure phophatidylcholine.

I'm far less enthusiast about chocolate. Though it contains antioxidants it also has natural toxins that work as oxidants. As a result chocolate DAMAGES your liver. If you measure your urinary pH you will notice a sharp drop of your pH (= more urinary acidity) for several days after eating dark chocolate. This acidity comes from lactic acid that is no longer properly metabolized by your liver because it is damaged ! By the way simply by measuring your urinary pH you will be able to find all the foods that contain natural or man-made toxins ! You will get surprises because you will not find the kind of results as mentioned in charts of acidic and alkaline foods !

That's for sure. But processed chocolate, just like processed anything, doesn't have the same benefits.

There's another side to chocolate, the dark side. It's addicting! Just ask my wife. She's a chocoholic. And because we know there are good things about chocolate, we searched for and found a way to make our own chocolate. We use coconut oil and the best quality chocolate we can get.

It's delicious and healthy all at the same time! I like mine with cayenne pepper and she loves it with organic vanilla. I also like grated coconut in the mix.

But buying chocolate usually means eating soy lecithin among other ingredients. So natural, organic, raw is best.

Why am I not surprised? It just seems that for some reason, most of man's "advances" are not really so advanced. This study is an outlier, and should be viewed with suspicion for that reason. Numerous other studies have, however, shown benefits from moderate drinking.

re: Can Alcohol Really Protect Your Heart?

According to the study, "heavy drinking cut the risk even more than moderate drinking."

This is an excellent example of a selective study designed to produce positive results. They measured two very specific items, drinking and heart disease. A good life is far more than a slightly lower risk of heart disease. What about quality of life? What about life expectancy? Liver problems? Depression? Obesity? Suicide? By choosing the two items they set out to find a positive correlation.

Lying to people by telling them that which they want to believe is truly dishonorable science.
