Preparing Your Brain to Remember

One of the more popular subjects I frequently discuss on my Web site is memory, along with all the natural things you can do to improve it.

An interesting study explains one reason why some memories stick around while others don't: Your frame of mind before, during and after the occasion you're attempting to recall influences your recollection of the event. But, if your mind is trained and ready to receive information, you'll improve your chances of remembering it.

With the help of an EEG, scientists detected activity that showed how the frontal region of the brain prepares to recall certain memories. The imaging was so accurate, researchers could even predict whether patients would recall a given event before it happened.
