Green Tea Protects the Health of Heavy Smokers

Although they may pay a high price for their heavy smoking, Asians are protected from cardiovascular damage due to their high consumption of green tea, according to a new study.

Many Asians drink as much as 1.2 liters (40 ounces) of green tea, enriched with epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), a major antioxidant that's become popular in scientific circles for its ability to protect the body from specific cancers.

Among green tea's other benefits are the ways it improves how the gastrointestinal system works, protects your skin and eyes and alleviates arthritis. Just be careful to drink green tea in moderation and ensure the brand you choose isn't high in fluoride. If you can't, consider a green tea extract I sell in my Web store.
