Government Programs Push Antidepressant Use on Small Children

With research emerging about all the damage antidepressants can do to your body, I'm surprised the national media hasn't picked up on this horrible story about the Texas Medication Algorithm Project, a math-driven philosophy for "treating" major adult psychiatric disorders.

Even worse, this abominable "project" has set its sites on children as young as 3 who are placed into foster care and receiving drugs for emotional problems such as depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. In other words, creating a one-size-fits-all approach to treat emotional problems with useless, unsafe drugs.

And this Texas program, flying under the radar, has migrated to Massachusetts and Florida, overmedicating a clear majority of our most victimized children in those states, under foster care.

The origin of these guidelines shouldn't surprise you: A consensus panel whose opinions were solicited by the drug companies that sponsored the Texas Medication Algorithm Project, according to the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons.

That's why safer, more effective and far less expensive solutions, like balancing a child's omega-3 levels by giving them a high quality krill oil daily, were ignored.
