God DOES Answer Your Prayers

According to a new, comprehensive analysis of 17 major studies on the effects of intercessory prayer -- prayer that is offered for the benefit of another person -- there is a positive effect for people with both medical and psychological problems.

Some individual studies have found positive results, while others have shown no effect. A meta-analysis of all studies allowed researchers to take into account the entire body of research.

When the effects of prayer were averaged across all 17 studies, controlling for differences in sample sizes, there was a net positive effect on the group being prayed for.

Dr. Mercola's Comment:

Although there have been a spate of recent studies refuting it, this  new analysis of the available research shows how the power of intercessory prayer really works. While some scientists feel the study I posted here a year ago on cardiac bypass patients was the final word, debunking any benefits, it looks like that isn't the case after all.

In fact, so many studies have documented the value of prayer that I believe it's criminally negligent not to recommend it. Just know, as you pray for others, you may not be able to overcome their beliefs and their ability to manifest their intentions, which can often be negative.

On a slightly different level, you might want to look at some photos of a powerful demonstration of the power of prayer actually changing the molecular structure of water

This appears to be strong support that a sincere expression of appreciation for your food prior to eating is health promoting. No, this is not the ritual food blessing many people give before Thanksgiving dinner, but something more of a direct communication with your maker to be grateful that you have food to eat when so many in the world are starving.

You may also want to review the work of Dr. Larry Dossey, probably one of the leading experts on the power of prayer, who has written many scientific articles and books about it.

I realize this is a highly controversial issue, which is why I am delighted that we now have a forum where you are welcome to express your thoughts on this topic. So feel free to do so below.
