Green Tea Helps Prevent Stomach Cancer

Women who regularly drink 5 or more cups of green tea daily appear about 20 percent less likely to develop stomach cancer.

Researchers have studied green tea in cancer prevention because they suspect that the drink's antioxidants may protect against the disease. In particular, it may include compounds that fight bacteria that have been linked to stomach cancer.

An examination of six studies that involved a total of more than 219,000 men and women found no link between more tea drinking and reduced stomach cancer risk among men, but a strong link for women.
