Herpes and E. Coli Found in Beauty Testers! The Scary Truth at the Makeup Counter

Don’t use the tester when you drop by the makeup counter. Sharing makeup is not something you want to do with an entire mall.

Makeup testers at beauty stores are germ incubators.  The LA Times reports that herpes, pink eye, and E. coli were only a few of the diseases lurking in testers.

According to StyleCaster:

“... the study found that on an average Saturday, 100 percent of the makeup at cosmetic counters was tainted with staph, strep, and E. coli bacteria.”
