Foods With Artificial Trans Fats Should Be Considered Adulterated

Artificial trans fat is nothing more than an adulterant, and it has no place in the global food supply.

In Europe, efforts to remove trans fats from the food supply have been effective, but many food manufacturers have not done so. Current trans fat bans only encompass about 20 percent of the U.S. population.

NutraIngredients notes that:

“In Denmark, where it has been illegal for foods to contain more than two percent trans fats since 2004, deaths from heart disease have dropped by 20 percent.”
