American Heart Association Sells Out With Video Game Endorsement

You may recognize the American Heart Association Healthy Check logo from packaging in the grocery store. But soon, the American Heart Association's name will appear on the Nintendo Wii video game system.

The reason Nintendo Wii is getting the nod, rather than any of the many other exercise-linked products, is that the American Heart Association’s "corporate relationship policy" calls for a "very deliberate process that must be considered" when determining who gets the AHA's endorsement.

What is that “deliberate process”? Here’s what ABC news reports:

“Nintendo did provide a $1.5 million gift over three years in an exclusive relationship.”
