'Dangerous' Herbal Supplement Claims Under Fire

A new report from the Government Accountability Office claims that sales people marketing herbal supplements gave "potentially dangerous advice" to undercover government investigators.

GAO investigators posed as elderly customers to ask about herbal dietary supplements. The GAO also reviewed marketing claims made on retail websites.

ABC News reports:

“Investigators found that sales people gave them ‘potentially dangerous advice,’ such as suggesting that they could take supplements instead of prescription medication, according to the report.”
