Now They Want to Serve Statins With Your Hamburgers

British “experts” have come up with one of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard. They argue that fast food outlets should hand out cholesterol-lowering statin drugs with their food.

According to BBC News, Dr. Darrel Francis and colleagues argued that it was:

“... about reducing harm in the same way that people who smoke are encouraged to use filters and those who drive are told to wear seatbelts.”

That analogy would only work if seatbelts, like statins, caused muscle problems, increased cancer risk, anemia, acidosis, sexual dysfunction, immune depression, pancreas and liver dysfunction, and cataracts. But other than that, this makes perfect sense!
