Short-Term Food Binges Lead to Long-Term Body Fat

Binging on food can have a long term effect on your body weight. Research has found that people who binged on fast food for four weeks and did little exercise put on about 14 pounds of weight. Two years later, signs of increased body fat were still apparent.

During the study, the participants had their physical activity limited to 5,000 steps per day, essentially a sedentary lifestyle.

According to BBC News:

“The study suggests that even a short period of excessive eating and a lack of exercise can potentially change a person's physiology — making it harder to lose and keep off weight.”
