Black Raspberries Prevent Colon Cancer

Black raspberries, which have antioxidant, anti-cancer, anti-neurodegenerative and anti-inflammatory properties, are highly effective in preventing colorectal tumors, according to studies that examined mouse models of the disease. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer.

Researchers found that a black raspberry-supplemented diet produced a broad range of protective effects in the intestine, colon and rectum.

Newswise reports:

“The researchers now hope to obtain funding to begin clinical trials in humans ... Because black raspberries not only prevent cancer but also inflammation, they may also protect against other diseases, such as heart disease.”
