Garlic is a Remedy for Hypertension

Doctors enrolled 50 patients in a trial to see if garlic could help people who suffer from high blood pressure even after taking medication. The patients who were given garlic extract had lower blood pressure than those who were given a placebo.

Garlic has previously been shown to lower cholesterol and reduce high blood pressure in people with untreated hypertension.

BBC News reports:

“... [S]ystolic blood pressure was around 10mmHg lower in the group given garlic compared with those given a placebo.”
