Half of Americans Could Be Diabetic by 2020

According to a new analysis, in just a decade, more than half of the U.S. population could have diabetes or prediabetes.

Diabetes is one of the fastest growing medical conditions in the U.S. If diabetes continues to grow at current rates, it will eventually cost over $3 trillion in health care related expenses per year.

According to AOL Health:

“We can all reduce our risk, however ... [W]alking 30 minutes a day five days a week and losing seven percent of your body weight could reduce your risk of developing diabetes or prediabetes by as much as 60 percent, based on current research studies.”
