A Novel Way to Optimize Your Cholesterol

By Christine Wheeler, MA

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) has supplied striking evidence of its ability to significantly alter blood chemistry related to cholesterol levels.

Traditional treatments for lowering cholesterol are diet, exercise and losing weight if needed. If lifestyle changes do not lower cholesterol levels, medication is often recommended.

EFT is based on the principle that a disruption in the body's subtle energy system is at the root of emotional and physical conditions. While Western medicine is beginning to look at this phenomenon, there has been some difficulty finding a Western way to digest the time-tested Eastern subtle energies.

The basics of EFT can be learned by anyone and can be self-applied (usually in minutes). EFT offers an easy-to-learn form of do-it-yourself acupuncture. Using your fingertips to tap on a series of specific acupuncture points, EFT utilizes the same protocol for each of more than 100 different illnesses and conditions.

This new "tapping technology" effectively balances the body's subtle energy system and as a result, the symptoms associated with different illnesses and conditions ... including elevated cholesterol ... tend to subside, usually quickly and often permanently. While EFT does not claim to offer a cure for these different illnesses and conditions, it has been shown to work in 80 percent of the cases.

Following is the synopsis of an actual case study from the EFT Web site.

Dr. Buzz Johnson, a retired optometrist, intrigued his physician
by lowering his own cholesterol levels using EFT and no medication.

Dr. Johnson received results from his blood test, which indicated that he had high cholesterol, and especially high triglycerides. His physician recommended a very low-fat diet and exercise for a month, after which they would retest. If his results were not improved in a month, the physician was likely to prescribe one of the many cholesterol-lowering medications currently on the market.

Dr. Johnson decided to experiment with EFT to lower his cholesterol naturally. He had copies of his blood test as a reference point and, with curiosity, commenced his experiment.

A month later he returned to his physician for more blood work and the results are depicted in the chart below. As you will see, every cholesterol level dropped with the triglycerides dropping a dramatic 58 points. The only exception to this was his HDL cholesterol level. It increased (which is good).

Dr. Johnson asked for copies of the results and when they arrived in the mail, there was a note attached to the results. The nurse had written a note saying, "He (the doctor) would like to talk to you about this 'method' of chol/trig lowering."

Please note that in addition to lowering cholesterol, EFT has been a consistently effective healing tool for hundreds of other physical, mental and emotional ailments.
