Even Light Exercise Could Prevent Osteoarthritis

People at risk for osteoarthritis may be able to resist the disease with simple changes to their physical activity. Engaging in light exercise may protect against the onset of the disease.

Osteoarthritis is a joint disease that causes pain, swelling and stiffness.  It is the most common form of arthritis.

Eurekalert reports:

“MRI exams revealed that light exercisers had the healthiest knee cartilage ... and patients with minimal strength training had healthier cartilage”.
