Almonds Prevent Diabetes and Heart Disease

New research shows that a diet rich in almonds will reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Over the course 16 weeks, test subjects who consumed 20 percent of their calories from almonds showed significantly improved LDL-cholesterol levels and measures of insulin sensitivity.  Both of these are major risk factors for heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
