From someone who died of a gunshot wound to a hip fracture
complication to a woman who died of Parkinson’s disease, hundreds of people in
Palm Beach County, Florida, were listed as COVID-19 victims, rather than what
actually caused their deaths.
In all, only 169 of 581 deaths that CBS 12 News investigated
were COVID-19 related. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he was made aware of the
errors, and that the state needs to look at all COVID-19 death reports to “see
how pervasive that issue is.”
