&lt;p&gt;I worked at a health shop some years back and one our suppliers who used to run annual seminars, had as their main subject, for 2 years running, the importance of Vit D. It was most informative, and amongst the interesting facts we learned was indeed that there was a shortage of this much needed vitamin, in the worlds population. They also told us that there were more incidents of melanomas in the northern hemisphere/colder climates than in the southern hemisphere, despite the high temperatures. Take the example of someone waking up in the dark in the UK in winter, driving to work, parking and heading up to an office, where they may stay the whole day until going home again, once more, in the dark, seeing no daylight whatsoever, and hence getting no Vit D. We were also told that Vit D cannot pass through glass, so that sitting indoors in a sunlit room will have no effect at all; you have to be outside. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;With regard to getting the message of Vit D out to the world as a preventive measure against Covid-19, I think it&amp;#39;s very important, but good luck with this as I have read reports of doctors pooh-poohing Vitamin C and D, as well as hydroxycholoroquine, etc. All they seem to want is a vaccine, and that scares me quite frankly.&lt;/p&gt;

I researched the reasons behind this and quickly realized his poor digestion didn&amp;#39;t allow his body to absorb the D from the sun. We also added vitamin K and continued on magnsium. We found the one suspended in coconut and palm oil tobe the most beneficial and cost-effective. We eat very healthily and are very healthy, but it was a shock to see such low D levels. (1) I think make the first two pages in laymen&amp;#39;s terms....point is to keep them interested long enough to get the point then encourage to keep reading for more details. keep it all in one document. Include a sentence or two about WHY people with more pigment may need more time in the sun to benefit. (3) include most people need only 20 min in the sun (with most skin exposure). This is to counteract the brainwashing that the sun is bad...ie. spend 20 min in full sun with as little clothing as possible then put your safe sunscreen and hats and clothing back on. you have oodles of good articles you could reference here. (4) consider a brief glossary of terms from the more scientific sections. (5) include why D3 not the D2 most docs prescribe. (6) move sections on covid 19 to beginning...at least before immune system sections. (7) include a reference/resource list for more reading, you have so many great articles that would augment this doc (8) tell about Vit D tests you can do at home? ie. grassrootshealth. alot of people wont go to doc just for vit D test or they are forced to do teledoc. (9) any way to include your great monthly UV index charts...or provide the source. but remember, many people who need this info dont have access to full websites or the time to look it up. the charts like in your calendar really tell the seasonality story at a glance and impresses why NOW is the time to get outside before the next wave.&lt;/p&gt;

I was Happy to see the mention of Mg (Magnesium) for us to achieve the important goal.   Hopefully people will start bugging their health care providers for the test with their &amp;quot;routine&amp;quot; blood work.
