Education, not school is mandatory in Britain. Parents may decide to homeschool.

One thing that is very communistic is the requirement that students attend a career class (and write reports/evaluations) in addition to 40 hours of “volunteer” service as a “career internship” in order to graduate. This is very unfair to students who must work to support themselves/families, those students who are struggling and need more study time or students in fragile health who struggle to meet other academic requirements. It is a reality that many students must work to earn money at the highest-paying jobs they can find--or work many different jobs--to earn needed money, rather than choosing pleasant work. It assumes all families are affluent and children have time to volunteer. This is not true for many farm kids who have hours of chores daily just to keep the family farm. Or kids who must care for numerous siblings or a sick parent. Some students are already struggling with parental responsibilities. These situations are actually quite common. It dummies students down to the lowest common denominator and takes class time away from the 3Rs. It assumes students are too dumb to plan their lives and careers on their own... "the convoy method" of education--that every student must use the same book, be on the same page, the same day. It relies on govt to plan your life. This is typical of the communist system where workers are obligated to attend meetings, volunteer and participate in work committees to keep their jobs. You can get college credit nowadays for protesting , but not volunteering at your church. This treats young people as wards of the state. All you really have to “spend” in your lifetime is your time. Compelling one person to serve another against their will is the definition of slavery.

I do not approve of mandates, no matter what. Rather than sanctions, the Government should publish the truth and keep hammering it: children up to age 20 are less likely to die of this alleged virus than they are of the flu, and they are very unlikely to spread infection to other children and adults. The Government has to stop the spreading of fear, which is what is causing parents to want to keep their children out of school. Of course, to do that the Government would have to admit the pandemic is a scam, which they will never do. This is a logical result of lies, they usually catch up with you!
