Most of the disinformation is coming from the media and, to a lesser extent, from officials who use the media to foment fear. The alleged COVID-19 numbers can't be accurate because there are no tests that can reliably diagnose COVID-19, and there are no FDA-approved COVID-19 tests. The title of a related article says "NFL Reports 77 False Positive Coronavirus Tests". The NFL claim that these faulty tests were from just one company, with the implication that all the other companies make reliable tests. The article doesn't name any of the companies that make the tests.
