My comment didn't post? Well, I shall attempt to recap... Glad to hear the Tampa police chief has some sense! It seems like in these days of media-driven covid hysteria/psychosis, some have forgotten what a crime is, and what the police are for. If one wears a hat, funny shoes, billowing pants or face paint, that's not a crime, it's art. Likewise, if you do or don't wear a head scarf, a hijab, a mask, a skimask, bandana or whatever, it's your choice... There is nothing criminal in any of it. The whole problem with the mask thing is that masks simply don't work. They don't prevent disease. Wearing cloth over one's face won't make one healthier, or stop you from catching anything.

Obviously, obstructing your breathing is not a good idea. Lots of self-harming behaviors (cigarette smoking, excessive drinking) are perfectly legal. Mask-wearing IS self-harm (unless you have a good reason for wearing one). If you are doing a home construction project like dry-walling, by all means, wear a mask (but wear the correct one!) I know someone who wears a mask during high-pollen season. She has fewer allergic reactions. However, she doesn't wear it for hours on end, or that many days of the year...

There are also reasons (and a whole set of rules that the public really isn't part of) for why and in which settings health-care workers need masks. When surgeons wear masks, extra oxygen is pumped into the operating theater. This tells us that masks restrict one's oxygen intake, and to compensate for that, the extra precaution of pumped-in oxygen is needed. The way politicians are playing around with medical interventions is not really a good idea. Ordinary citizens should not fancy themselves as in any way like surgeons, and therefore shouldn't wear surgical masks (unless they are dressing up for Halloween). It even says outside on the box that surgeon's masks don't prevent the spread of viruses.

LOVE the fact the Tampa police will NOT enforce the ridiculous mandate!!! Look at Gov. DeSantis' remarks today in response to Beijing Biden's attempt to restrict travel ... he "ripped Biden a new one!!!" Another reason why I'm planning to leave the LIBTURD-RULED state of Hawaii & look for a nice, little place to call home in FL:)

Why isn't anyone arresting Bill or Melinda Gates for not wearing a mask. I have yet once to see them with a mask on even thought they are demanding this mask mandate for everyone else.

Bring it on. I almost wish that I was in Tampa Bay. Any criminal in a police uniform acting under color of law would face public humiliation, a video posted online, and a federal lawsuit for acting under color of law. Also, I would start a movement for the ousting of the TYRANT Jane Castor.

I thought Governor DeSantis had made a decree vanquishing the mask fines. Was in Tampa for a rally last year; the poor police were wearing masks outside on a sunny day; most of those attending the rally were not wearing masks. Are they going to spend tax dollars to find those without masks then and during the Super Bowl? This is certainly a "heil covid!!" thing. If you don't, you stand out as one who doesn't believe in the covid-regime.
