Why are all these developments involved with GMOs, poisonous covid drugs, fake fast food. Because natural doesn't generate that type of income.

We had an area where they planted a bunch of chestnuts which were supposed to be a combination of the American chestnut and some European chestnut. I haven't been there in a while to see how they were doing.

I am a Tree Steward and member of The Amer Chestnut Foundation. The gene added is already in nature and would restore and undo the greatest man-made eco-disaster in history (loss of the Amer Chestnut). One chestnut tree can feed a family and provide income and shelter. The gains are huge and the risk is minimal -- being researched for years before introduction. Not all science is bad.

The wise Mao Tse Tung ordered his farmers to go out and scare the sparrows until they died of exhaustion. The idea was that the sparrows ate the wheat crop and the population needed the food. The project was a success, and everyone was proud.

The next seasons wheatcrop was a disaster. The bugs killed the crops.

In WArshington, beetles have kill a huge portion of the trees planted, which were, according to the smart people, better than the natural ones. Never mind it was the natural ones the beetles left alone.

Just imagine the potential tragedies. I hear that some of the species they are working on are more prone to forest fires. Or, maybe like the potato famine, there would only be one species of trees in each part of the country and they would all get wiped out. What about the value of genetic diversity in a forest? What about the understory of plants that depend on a mixed woods? What about the wildlife that depends on the diversity of living plants and trees? If it is GMO, will they start spraying the trees with some of the most toxic herbicides known to man... which will be what the wildlife eats? What about the people who hunt, fish and forage consuming the products of the forest? According to Traditional Chinese medicine, inhaling the pollen of certain trees and wildflowers is very healing. Some of our most strengthening, uplifting and tonic remedies are the essential oils from trees.

No good will come of altering nature... except for those who expect to profit in the initial stages of introducing these franken-trees. This would no longer be a forest, but a tree plantation. If it comes to something like this, I recommend that landowners wild harvest trees for replanting from isolated ditched on their own property where trees have reseeded thickly. Areas where there is no run-off contamination carrying in pollen form other areas. No run-off from other properties. You can often find well over 100 trees growing in a square yard of land. They will not survive if left so close to one another and are likely tough enough to transplant well. Besides, the price is right. Work with landowners to fight this and refuse to buy the GMO trees. If there is anything that should remain inviolate to the genetic manipulators it is our forests. I see no value in planting such seedling trees and much potential for harm. The techno-tyrants want to control everything, but they will likely end up destroying everything.
