I am a mild narcoleptic. As long as I have had enough sleep I am fine. If I am behind in my sleep I can have an overwhelming urge to fall asleep come without warning even during the day. As long as I get some caffeine in me I am fine. My uncle had a severe case. He had to take rytalin every day to stay awake. I don't know if that is what he always took. He took them every day from age 19 to age 91 when he passed away. He would take one when his alarm sounded in the morning and every 4 hours with the last one 4 hours before he wanted to go to bed. I keep caffeine pills and Mountain Dew (lots of caffeine in it) in my car for obvious reasons. I haven't had an episode in months due to getting enough sleep.

Found out it is a common problem.with Celiac disease leading to Magnesium deficiency. Blood tests were normal but after a few weekly shots of Magnesium, then going to monthly, pills were not working, I am doing much better. Magna-calm powdered magnesium works some. But I probably now have some gut healing and can absorb it better now orally.

Now I can't fall asleep, can't stay asleep, I sweet very heavily and lose my electrolytes, I now studder, have trouble digesting food and now have celiac decease. Modern medicine sucks. How do we reverse these simptems? Linesta wont even get me to sleep now. Trazidone makes things worse, yet they increased the dosage. My prostate is also messed up now. Anti deprsants are seritonin uptakes, so when I take 5 HTP or triptafan I get really wired up and not a chance of sleep. I was given Zoloft to stop me from falling asleep in the day time. It was a struggle to stay awake. When my work put me on the road in rush hour traffic, it was scary to have my head bobbing. Zoloft totally changed this to no sleep and they can't make it back the other wat.Modern medicine sucks and I am stuck with it.
