Pure cruelty afflicted upon both mother and baby during a crucial time they should be spending TOGETHER. What other illnesses or diseases warrant such painstaking separation of a newborn from its mother?!!

I would suggest she find good lawyer however with the current situation I’m not sure it would help. Seems corruption is all around us. My heart aches for her, had this happened when I had my one and only child I’m sure it wouldn’t have ended well. Is this story a warning for all expectant mothers? If you plan to give birth in hospital ask in advance what their practice/plan is? Or plan to give birth at home? So much to think about.

When I had our first child at a hospital in 1984, I knew that if they were so terrible with a healthy mom and baby, turning it into a terrible medical rape for the mom, leaving her cut and stitched for the doctor's convenience, keeping mom and baby separated for hours with the baby in a big room with other babies and nobody watching over them.... holding moms with insurance as long as possible.... and all that resulting in a breast infection requiring an antibiotic.... that we'd be in real trouble if ever in need of medical care.

This is ludicrous and so cruel to both mother and baby. Separating them right after the birth, for no freaking reason, could have lifelong consequences.

It maybe a false positive. God bless her and the baby/family. They don't care. They may make more money this way and may enjoy abusing.

The test used for all COVID testing is the RT-PCR test. It's a serious problem because it produces false positives. It doesn't have FDA approval and is being used under the FDA's emergency use authorization (EUA). According to this linked CDC notice, the RT-PCR test will be replaced in December with tests that can tell the difference between COVID and influenza. Now a days, better to not even enter into a hospital setting. Have children at home. I had my first one at a hospital and my second at home, which was a far better experience. I don't see a doctor for anything anymore.

If she planned on breastfeeding her baby, the hospital might have ruined her chances of doing it. And since when is a baby born only one week early sent to an NICU? If the woman didn't have symptoms after a couple of days, the test was either false positive or she was asymptomatic, and wouldn't pass it on to her baby. And who has heard of a baby being sick with Covid? Let the baby get the virus and be immune for life.

A newborn and new mom are one unit still, even after birth. They are not meant to be separated. It is a crime to do so. It is not humane. It sets a dangerous precedent.
