When I went to school not so very long ago, at any school of economics of decent quality , every beginning student learned about the revolving door of corporations and regulators (even Bill Gates would be familiar with this concept as he is very well educated) . Milton Friedman, Nobel prize winner in economics explained clearly and simply what institutional capture was and described the incentives that made the very entities the agencies are supposed to be regulating form mutually beneficial partnerships. He explained it in his best selling classic, FREE TO CHOOSE, and worth picking up again it is so well written. It is not a conspiracy theory. It is Econ 101.

No corruption to see hear - please disperse! Amazing how few people will even dig to find out these simple-to-find hypocrisies b/c of life, personal biases, or sheer ignorance. How anyone could honestly trust these organizations is truly baffling to me.

To our detriment. Isn't it scary the way this was done? To let aspartame poison how many people while health food stores could NOT legally call the sweeter stevia A SWEETENER... not just a sweetener, but a complete sweetener that also contains chromium magnesium which means it feeds the pancreas, it doesn't destroy it ... along with other compounds beneficial to our systems like silicon, cobalt, and the cofactors -zinc and selenium along with other trace elements. Stevia contains the three vitamins C, beta-carotene and B1. Pretty strange how it was legal to vilify it so "someone" who was part of that revolving door could get it approved. The scary thing is - we've set up our country so that he with the deepest pockets gets what he wants no matter if it's an actual poison (ie glyphosates, solvents that break the barriers to the organs in our bodies, artificial colors and flavors, there's so many more,) When I was younger I would see warning labels, but I would think, "If it was really dangerous, would they even be allowed to put it out there?" About the time stevia was being harassed by the government, I kept asking WHY - why is this happening. Honestly, I think that's when I figured out money meant more to people than health. It was also when I figured out I needed to step up my game.
