We have a small meat cutting facility in our community, that can only cut local meat products and that is where I purchase all my meat from. It usually tastes much better, and since we know the owners, we can report directly to them if we have a problem with the meat, which we never have since it opened. They also sell organic meats for not much more money.

We need COOL (Country Of Orgin Label) to reflect where born AND raised. We also need a no hormone implant designation. It can be very expensive to raise to meet total organic certification. Most cattle eat a little hay in winter, but finding organic certified hay can be difficult and expensive. Foxtails can cause eye infections and antibiotics in the eye can save eyesight. Cows can get postpartum infections, not often, but they can kill or lead to infertility. This would mean no longer organic label eligible.
