Executive orders leverage the power of the presidency to manage and change operations of the federal government without involvement from the legislative or judicial branch. Although executive action is limited in scope, it can have a big impact on regulatory enforcement and are often used in times of war or national emergency.

The first executive order was given by America’s first president, George Washington, and has been used by every president since. President Roosevelt holds the record for the most executive orders signed, at 3,721. In contrast, President Trump has signed 194, Barack Obama signed 276 and George W. Bush signed 291 orders. Executive orders have a role to play in the function of our government, but should never replace the legislative process laid out in the Constitution, nor should we allow these orders to threaten our system of checks and balances. Having one individual make decisions for the entire nation can be dangerous if boundaries are overstepped.

In some cases, presidents have overused and abused their power. For example, in 1942 President Franklin Roosevelt signed a controversial executive order that imprisoned tens-of-thousands of Japanese Americans during World War II. His argument was to prevent another attack similar to Pearl Harbor, but instead caused lasting harm to many American citizens. Fortunately, Congress and federal courts have the ability to strike down executive orders if they believe they exceed the president’s authority. Executive action is sometimes necessary, but should always be watched carefully.

The method started with Trump: he started Operation Warp Speed against an invisible threat that existed only in computer simulations and on TV, then washed his hands by telling state governors that they had the power to enforce the muzzle/test/"vaccine" mandate (actually, legally speaking, they don't). Only the governor of SD didn't succumb to the pressure. Even in that case, it's still unclear, whether SD was reserved for a testing ground for later. The Servants of Evil keep passing around the hot potato.

Hmm, is it true Biden issued an Executive Order mandating vaccination? I'm not sure. Can anyone verify it's an EO? I keep hearing he made more of a "press release" and that nothing official is in writing. Also, either last summer or earlier this year I read an article that the CEO of SW airlines was in favor of making the Vax mandatory to every to fly on airplanes. Sorry, can't find the article at this time. Back to Biden... He's working with OSHA to create a rule... This from WH.Gov...

SW pilots made an attempt at a “blue flu” like rebellion in response to their companies push to get the jab. They did this, this past weekend and I thought it created enough issues of discomfort to get the message across that the pilots are not in favor of going along with Biden’s health directives. As one rep pointed out, the pilots are just getting started with their attempts to counter any mandate. Southwest is corporately headquartered in Texas where Governor Abbot has outlawed mandates.

Mr Kelly first blamed the canceled flights on weather then the President. Not sure why he feels intimidated by the president when other airlines don't. Governor Abbot (Southwest Home Base) has made vaccine mandate illegal in Texas..If Congress is ignoring the Supreme Courts mandates on the border then the airlines should ignore the President's.....All of a sudden Fake Fauci comes out and says pilots don't need a vaccine????Why not???They don't live in the cockpit 24/7. This all stinks of the reset.

The mandates have not even gone through yet, from what I had read. They are suggested , but need to go through the process. Southwest jumped the gun, and is blaming it on Biden. I f enough companies would stand up to those mandates, this administration would not have a choice but to trash them, otherwise this country could easily come to a standstill. We have the power, we're just not using it.

Biden's vaccination mandate is unenforceable because a president isn't legally empowered to issue mandates. The COVID issue is bringing out Biden's latent authoritarianism and probable disdain for constitutional democracy. The airline CEO is showing his ignorance in abiding by what he says he thinks is an enforceable mandate. Any corporate CEO should have legal advisors to keep him informed about any issues, including this one. These are two examples of poor-quality leadership.

What mandate?? Mandates a re nothing more than a request for action to be taken. A request...... If the party that mandates is directed at refuses to engage in the request, then the mandate just goes away and no legal recourse can be sought. If the party engages, then the mandate can be enforced because the positive action is seen as acceptance. Mandate does not mean mandatory. Why do you think Biden ,the White House, Congress SCOTUS and other crime networks in DC do not follow their own mandates? They know they do not have to. The ignorance of Americans is their own enslavement.
