This is OLD news.. from at least 2016.The gov't has been buying cheese because milk consumption goes down every summer.. right when cows produce more milk. So as part of the country's huge subsidy of American farmers, the excess milk is made into butter and cheese and stored in cool, underground caves. I don't know if this is still being done, but, before now, a large amount would be given to food banks.

plenty cheese, dairy, etc available for GOVERNMENT workers, legislators, departments, states and federal if and when severe shortages hit....NOT for general public, I believe...feather in the hat for the current powers that be....ESP those that support them....just the way it is....
