It pulls water into your fuel, causes gasoline to decompose faster, and invalidates warranties on small engines (eg. Stihl etc.....) It gums up fuel injectors and has a low energy content, however it is a cheap way to boost octane in the poorer gasoline base stocks. Your vehicle's engine will last a lot longer if you use pure gasoline with no ethanol. I my case, I do not need the higher octane, rather I need ethanol free gasoline.

It is not pollution; it is a cycle. Oh, BTW, 100% of all the CO2 produced from the burning of petroleum is newly added. Poet, who is the largest ethanol producer in the world, now has 50% of their ethanol plants making ethanol from waste steam from natural gas electric plants. Waste steam = free energy. Other ethanol producers are as well. Soon all ethanol plants will be this way for who can compete with free energy. This Reuters article is very misleading about ethanol plants producing more pollution than petroleum ones.

John Deere pushing farmers to go electric, but...... A Farmer Asks:“Ok, I have some questions. How do I charge these combines when they are 3 counties away from the shop in the middle of a cornfield, in the middle of nowhere?” “How do I run them 24 hours a day for 10 or 12 days straight when the harvest is ready, and the weather is coming in?” “How do I get a 50,000+ lb. combine that takes up the width of an entire road back to the shop 20 miles away when the battery goes dead?” www.thelibertybeacon.com/corn-flakes-arent-green

The farm land used (wasted) to grow all the fuel corn used will be progressively depleted of nutrients and probably is treated with various harmful artificial fertilizers and pesticides, which will cause far worse water pollution than from manure. If fuel from vegetables is really required, then far better to grow high fat/oil vegetation, which could be pressed and processed to biodiesel. Lastly, alcohol can apparent cause problems in internal combustion engines and has far less energy density, thus is far worse value per gallon/litre than oil derived fuels or natural gas.

Zero emission is BS, nothing manufactured can ever be, especially not the short-lived and unreliable, thus uneconomical, "renewable" solar, wind, river, and wave power installations, which all need backup ICE (internal combustion engine) power generation, like gas turbine, to prevent lengthy power cuts. The only reliable renewable power generation is geothermal. Electric vehicles rely upon multiple rare/costly minerals, often mostly found in China, so don't bet on supply if China get pissed off. Their manufacturing and recycling costs are far higher than ICE engine vehicles, and their power storage density, thus total storage, is pathetically limited and slow to "refuel" compared to ICE.

The stupidest electric vehicles are for construction, because their running period is stupid short, and they have to be charged for even longer on a far less efficient large site diesel generator. Water gas powered engines look a far better alternative, because several inventors have proved that water electrolysis can be made over-unity efficient and be used to fuel a gas adapted ICE, so run on only water, once the standard car/motor-bike battery is charged enough.

It's not saving our environment if their choice causes twice the pollution. Just like all the extra pollution from manufacturing electric cars compared to gasoline fueled.
