If our health officials tell us about the drop in birth rate, then more people would speculate on the cause, and there would be fewer people taking the mRNA jabs. They don't want that. They're already complaining about the low uptake of the bivalent jab.

You can hide trends for a while with any number of fairy tale explanations but statistics like total number of births and deaths will come out (likely a bit later than normal so explanations can be conceived or concocted) but after a year or two all trends will be clear and you don't need a degree in statistics to read the graphs.
