My parents were both trained in the London Hospital in the 1950’s. Both were taught then that surgical face masks were useless against virus. That the state has pushed such since 2020 days much about the lack of science and the gullible public lapped it up. Worse in Wales in the last 2 weeks I saw a Dr telling a patient that masks were very effective. In my book that Dr is simply in incompetent and it now needs to be called out. It’s utter bunk and has been from the start but for me the real issue is if this science is so poorly understood by the “medics” what hope is there re “ complex” medicine? None in my book which is why I no longer trust any of these medics and pharma We need a monumental restart to gain any trust.

The possibility that more of those who masked had more health problems or were older should be considered. Lacking a large control group of random people and not just those who may have been more at risk makes it difficult to determine the advantages or disadvantages of masks.

Re Shielding This is not about face masks, but about people not going out. People were basically locked in at home. No one coming in and no one going out.

There are still signs on all the doors at our local university asking students to mask up. And many do for every class.

It would be nice if those who accepted the corrupt word of authorities were compelled to read that study - and to apologize for their naivete.
