One of my kids is an archeologist who works in overgrown fields and forests. They do their best to protect themselves, but tick bites just come with the job. They have developed sensitivity to pork, which their doctor has told them is either from a tick bite or from flu shots through the years. The flu shots contain some type of pork gelatin in them, either the shot or what they are cultured in. The doctor has seen a major upswing in patients complaining about feeling like they are nauseous and coming down with the flu when they eat pork or beef. A number of my child’s friends who are archeologists have developed sensitivity to pork or beef. One who has been bitten by ticks many times, she’s a tick magnet, can no longer eat any meat except fish.

This is not a made up thing unfortunately. The Ologies podcast has an episode on ticks which is fascinating. Ticks can sense our body heat and smell us. Most ticks hang out on grasses or overhead branches waiting for us to walk by so they can hop into us. But one type can jump along following us until it catches up and gets us. If you can check your body,take a good shower, and change your clothes within 24 hours of being outdoors, most ticks won’t have time to travel up your body from your legs to attach into your warm crevices. You will wash them off when you shower and wash your hair. So cover up and when in grassy areas, put your pants into the tops of your socks.

I unfortunately read this information written by the CDCand first thought wasFinally! A reason why I have such awful abdominal cramps coupled with nausea and sweating the day after eating red meat.but quickly realized the explanation came from the CDCnow I am curious as to why exactly I’m having issues with red meat; I never had prior problems. It all started in 2010coincidentally after I received my flu vaccinea requirement to stay employed as a nurse. The second year after receiving the required flu injection I had anaphylaxisIs it possible the flu shot maybe the culprit for my “red meat allergy”?!

Dr. Mercola, Gui, or Anyone Else: What can we do to prevent this from happening if we get bit by a lone star tick? My son was bitten several years ago and had a red circular mark around the spot shortly after I removed it. I may have given him some diatomaceous earth in juice for a few days, but I can not remember, nor do I know if it would even help. But this would be awful now that I really believe that grass fed red meat is an almost perfect food.
