Unless you suffer from PKU or are some statistical anomaly, aspartame is just fine. I've ingested it upper-limit volumes for 40+ years now. Will it kill me early? Possibly, but so might walking thru the woods and 'nature' and getting bit by the wrong tick. Splenda, on the other hand, is a proven poison and needs to be 86'd asap. Yes, natural products are generally better, but I'm not going to drink sugar all day - not in fruit juice or in soda.

SOME of the imported Mexican sodas I see in the SMs' separate display shelves, including genuine Mexican Coka Cola, have real cane sugar as opposed to HFCS, but sugar none-the-less. Make sure to read the ingredient labels. www.seriouseats.com/best-mexican-soda-brands

Maybe they'll replace the ingredients with real food. There are people who WILL drink soda. Having a safer alternative is a step in the right direction for them.

Hummm? Good news? Maybe? Their store brand selection must be very small. Of course that doesn't stop them from selling all the other brands with all the horrible toxic ingredients in them. They'll probably have a sale on those.
