Per Ms. Barclay at the illustrious Imperial College of London: "The research is proof of concept . . ." Okay, so . . . What? I'll tell you what, some people need to find something else to do with their big brains instead of chasing down fixes for made-up maladies. Bird flu pfffffffffft. The grant money for nonsense like this is on an open spigot, so long as you get the desired "results." Necessity, practicality, safety, and meaningful studies be damned.

"CRISPR" is a "new gene editing technology"? Hm, don't see anything that says this is a reprint. The NYT source article doesn't call it "new" either.
