I threw out my Teflon pans many years ago, switching first to cast iron pans, and a few years ago to ceramic pans -- they are amazing.

I tossed my toxic teflon, (as well as aluminum), pots years ago, and rely ONLY on cast iron and stainless steel as well as a ceramic/porcelain crockpot, Pyrex, and also Adele Davis' 24 hour low temperature slow oven roasting methods.

Teflon fumes may hurt parakeets like paint fumes. Hard boiled eggs maybe the best way to eat eggs?

It seems that once a toxic substance is discovered, they make a big deal of proclaiming products (fill in the blank) Free. Only for the replacement chemical to be just as toxic or more so. Can't think that the 'improved' Teflon is more of the same?

It is strange, that somehow I have consider Teflon to be toxic from as early as 1976, however it is only now that it is getting attention........ somewhere in my vast hoard of books and papers is a 70's article on the toxicity of Teflon frying pans.
