I’m a member of a Kaiser Permanente HMO. I can attest from my experience of close on 20 years that its practitioners do not turn to toxic chemicals as their first and only protocol. I’m always asked about my exercise and sleep. I was given a cd with guided meditation; it also contains sleep-inducing music. I was signed up by my doctor for a free-to-members stress management course. I’ve been prescribed acupuncture.

I’m no longer asked about my diet. My primary care physician and I have a good multi-year relationship. My blood work and yearly physical are good evidence that I’ve matched my diet to my biochemistry. My doctor is well aware that I eat red meat, dairy products, and lots of eggs.

With respect, perhaps Dr. Mercola is out of touch with the new generation of MDs. After all, it’s many years since he was in practice.

When I read these claims, I sometimes wonder if I inhabit a parallel universe!
