He would never agree to a colonoscopy in the past and finally agreed to a FIT test a few years ago and now the Cologuard. The doc now wants him to have a colonoscopy as a follow-up. He has no symptoms or risk factors for colon cancer. After reading all the horror stories and actually knowing of people who were damaged/died from the procedure, we are scared stiff of having him go through it. Also, I read that if there are cancerous polyps found and are snipped off they can release millions of cancer cells throughout the body and cause more cancer. I am so confused and scared of making the wrong decision. Since Cologuard has a 13% false positive rating, should we get some other test first? Is a sigmoidoscopy better to begin with? I know cancer can be missed on colonoscopies as well. If we go right to a strict natural plan of juicing, supplements and alternative therapies can we skip the scopes? Too many questions and no good answers! Anyone have any suggestions please?</p>
