&lt;p&gt;The worst offender for causing infertility may be the prevalent use of cottonseed oil in the crappiest of junk foods--even salad dressings.  Cotton root is a known abortificant.  Oils are concentrated in seeds.  This lowers fertility.  Fertility is an indicator of health.  Yet, these oils are still allowed to be sold.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Then, there are the problems of chemical and heavy metal contamination. Anything that has the potential to block metabolic pathways is suspect.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This also alters the bio-electrical functioning of the body.  We are beings of light, descended from an original spark.  Like the flame of a torch passed on to a new generation, life form should not be arbitrarily altered.  Esp. for profit motives.&lt;/p&gt;

That was thirty years ago. Now, to my shock, I just read the the worldwide average is 4 to 14%. While we need to reduce the human population drastically to become a sustainable species, this is not the way.&lt;/p&gt;
