Like GM foods, there are too many intended and unintended consequences, the effects of which may be unknown to developers or the general public for years down the road, after the floodgates are open. Also, would GM babies then be patentable, owned by the companies that produced them? Think of Big Pharma medicine/technology and Monsanto/Bayer GM seeds.
