It weighs about 3 pounds, filters all of your blood each day, and when healthy is the only organ capable of regenerating. Milk thistle is most beneficial before you get to this point. Don't pick them out of your yard, as they may be contaminated with glyphosate.

A broad range of different pharmacological agents can induce liver damage, including anesthetics, anticancer drugs, antibiotics, antituberculosis agents, antiretrovirals, and cardiac medications. In addition, a plethora of traditional medical therapies and herbal remedies may also be hepatotoxic.

A lot of commercial alcoholic beverages, esp cocktails and mixes are terrible things to put in your body, whereas clean home-brewed beer, wines and cordials, etc. are actually beneficial. We are very careful if we consume wines away from home, too as they can be contaminated products. We grow a lot of our own fruit or forage it, so we are aware of the quality of our ingredients and do not add chemicals of any sort. I am too dumb and not very patient, so have never bothered to use a lot of equipment and chemicals for brewing. Everything is done the old ways with surprisingly good results. Putting nature in charge of the chemistry requires understanding the process and just providing the conditions to allow it to occur. I have a neighbor who spends a lot and fusses with his brewing, yet his expensive time-consuming products are no better than my simple ones. My goal is to keep tummies filled with nutritious and appetizing food that satisfies. There are not enough hours in a day for fancy meals, except for special holidays. Hubby reminds me that your old china does not matter as long as it is piled high with good food. Friends seem most ecstatic to receive my surplus wine in mason jars when I run out of bottles in bumper crop fruit years. Likewise, a bottle of wine adds a lot to a simple meal.

So, go simmer a kettle of soup, a loaf of bread and open a bottle of wine for supper tonight?
