Simply rinsing your hands with water, or giving them a quick scrub with soap, is not enough.
I just picked up your book, Fat for Fuel, & realized there are so many nurses out there who, when they hear "ketones" or "keto diet" mentioned, they think diabetes "ketoacidosis." My daughter is a nurse & will not listen to me when I start to talk about FAT for Fuel. Nurses must be educated about the difference. I don't think their Professional Licensusre 'Board of Registration of Nurses would allow you to present for credits or maybe they will in this day and age.

   Please try.

With this coronavirus, I laid in some extra organic soap supplies. I may be a messy housekeeper because I am always in the middle of some project, but I am generally clean enough that no one has died from my housekeeping or cooking. There may be some dust under a bed or behind furniture, but as my grandma would say... "It is city dirt that makes people sick, not good clean country dirt." She esp. liked to remind us of that when the "honey wagon" was in use spreading manure on fields. In spite of the odor, she knew the traditional way of building soil produced healthy food.

I do have the ability to make soap and made sure I have ingredients on hand in case that becomes necessary. At this time, store bought is much more convenient. It occurs to me that I may have to resort to making a whole lot of stuff from scratch before this is all over. No one can store and for see all that they will need or make it last long-term. It helps to have knowledge and skill to replace what gets used up. Inc. foods and meds, too.

We are fortunate to have everything we need for an extended period of self-quarantine. However, I am already becoming aware of certain store bought "luxuries" I can no longer take for granted on a subsistence life style. Not bad, just different. We will not go hungry, but will be resourceful. A person will need a lot more than the 2 weeks of "preparedness" the govt advises.

Do not underestimate what homebrew adds to a simple meal, either.

Supper tonight was plain old pan-fried fish fillets sautéed in nothing but olive oil with a choice of home-canned pear chutney or cilantro relish, stir-fried mixed vegetables (carrots and onion from cold storage, thawed baby Jerusalem Artichokes and sliced oyster mushrooms I cut yesterday), crock dill pickles, canned D'Anjou pears and a home-brewed wine.
