He says he hopes this taking is not necessary and people will cooperate. That means that responsible people who have prepared, instead of panicking at the last minute, will be left without protection for themselves. Instead, the supplies they bought and paid for, for their own protection, under just such circumstances, will be confiscated by govt. If you have it, the state of NJ wants it. Apparently, they also think this is a good use of public policing, too. Govt has long existed simply as a means of extortion while only pretending to protect the individual.

newyork.cbslocal.com/.../coronavirus-nj-gov-orders-state-police-to-commandeer-needed-medical-supplies

I guess the moral of the story is, that, if you are prepared, not only do you not want your friends and neighbors to know, but you must esp. hide what you have from govt.

In many ways, life has just gotten too silly and complicated for me. I have not been out in 3 weeks and that was only to follow up on dental work. Even before then, I made very few trips out. I decided nothing is worth a trip out to the supermarket. I am not going to risk my well-being for a quart of milk. This is not the time to go all emotional and indulge in junk food, either. When I heard people were going crazy buying drugs, booze and crap food to wait out the at-home quarantine, I observed that the price of organic food fell significantly for a brief period of time, so I figured it was a good time to add a few extra 50# sacks of organic food before the outbreak hit our area. It has been weeks now. I see no reason why most people still need to shop once or twice a week. Supermarkets are disease vectors that can never be kept completely sterile.

Govt dependency training has persisted for too long. Preparation prevents panicking.
