WHO is a mostly privately financed entity, primarily by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It's not a government agency that would be mandated to serve the public good rather than the Gates's profit motive. That's been reported here previously. What this article doesn't say is that Trump is upset with the fact that WHO hasn't satisfied his demands for data showing much larger numbers of coronavirus victims, so he's shutting off the relatively small amount of government funding WHO was receiving. When the coronavirus hoopla is all over, he will need horrifying statistics to justify his orders that shut down the economy and caused incalculable damage to people's lives, but it seems that WHO wasn't cooperating fully in that regard.

President Trump is spot on regarding the WHO and the sycophant to China that runs it! My understanding is that the US contributed around $582,000 to WHO in 2019 while China's contribution was a meager $38,000. Yet China gets praised by WHO and the US gets slammed for daring to call out China. My only disagreement with the President is that I think he listened to and followed the advice of Fauchi and the like. Being a smart encyclopedic type does not insure wise decisions. Personally think the President should have advised old guys like me to practice social distancing and seclusion and let the virus run its course. Think more people will suffer and perhaps die due to economic conditions than the Communist Wuhan manufactured Chinese Virus will ever cause. Wayne Kuhn

I am British , to me and many others this action by the U.S President in the middle of a crisis seems to be vindictive and spiteful. He does'nt seem to like transnational organizations very much but Organizations like the UN , the EU and NATO exist because of the terrible wars of the twentieth century. Who in their right mind would want a repeat of those events?

I am happy about this news and hope it holds up and this move leads to more positive directions. The WHO need to be investigated and prosecuted for the catastrophic disaster that they could have controlled or stopped much better. But instead they were looking to cover their rear. The jury is still out for me on the role or not Trump is playing in this. I hope Fauci is next to be axed. He has been giving Trump awful advice, replace him with Dr. Shiva or Dr. Mercola. Then I’d be able to sleep better at night. Our prime minister Justin Trudeau in Canada what a hypocrite he is travels to go see his family for Easter and take a photo of everyone looking so cozy and happy(no social distancing here) yet tells everyone to stay home, practice social distancing but he is not complying with this.
