Fighting Prostate Cancer Naturally With Curcumin-Vegetable Compound

Interesting how natural, simple things like fruits and vegetables can do such wonderful things for your health. The same can be said for curcumin, the powerful yellow spice that has been used to fight the development of cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

Researchers have found even more evidence of curcumin's cancer-fighting abilities, in combination with phenethyl isothiocyanate (PEITC), a natural chemical found in broccoli, cauliflower, kale, turnips and other vegetables, to protect men from prostate cancer as well as treat it.

Scientists tested their effectiveness on live mice with human prostate cancer cells, that were treated either with PEITC, curcumin or both at least three times a week over a month. Both did the trick separately in slowing the growth of tumors, but combining the two was far more powerful.

In later research on older, well-established tumors, PEITC and curcumin also slowed their growth greatly, but neither had little effect when used separately.
