The Origins of Google Began in Russia

If you've read my blog for a while, you already know how much I admire the vision behind Google, a company whose wonderful tools have revolutionized how we use the World Wide Web.

One could argue the Internet "tsunami" that now is Google started with a very difficult decision by Russian Jewish parents to leave their native Moscow for a better life for their son in America in 1979. Their son was Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google.

I suspect you'll enjoy this fascinating read and inspirational story of how Brin immigrated from Russia to eventually develop, along with his business partner Larry Page, the best search engine in the world and became one of the world's wealthiest people in his 30s, as a result.

Well, that explains why Google does not support or promote American holidays and why they prohibit a search for the word democracy in countries that don't permit it...they are not from America!

You can read more about Google's one sided and skewed search results here: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=55329

Just like many other inventions that are being claimed to be American have origins overseas. Contact lenses for example were invented by Czech inventor Otto Wichterle. Americans seen the potential future investment and so two men came to then communist Czechoslovakia, bought the patent and paid some $200,000 to the government. No surprise there that man who invented it got NADA..... Budweiser is originated in Czech Republic in a town of Cesky Budejovice (translated in German Budweis hence Budweiser) and definitely anyone who tried the original "Ceskobudejovicky Budvar" (Czech Budweiser) will agree that it surpasses the one made in the USA. Water is the key ingredient in making beer, and for that matter also a chicken soup as I found out on my own. Grandma's chicken soup was the best in the world when made in her kitchen. When she made the same soup in my house it did not taste the same....... ;-)
Also an infamous Semtex (a powerful explosive used by terrorist groups) is Czech invention.

I just thought I will add a tid-bid myself

To paraphrase the Beatles lyrics..."we do not know lucky we are, not to have Sergey Brin back in the former USSR..."

Thanks for the information.  I never really knew the story behind the 2 people who started google.  Just that they had dropped out of college.

Brin's mother still bugs him (was on 60 Minutes) about going back to get his doctorate, so he has something to fall back on, if he runs out of ideas and billions of dollars...

Proving once again, that one person's billionaire, is another's drop out relative; just ask Bill Gates mom also...
